The PROTEX ITALIA SRL “Antonio Corberi” PHYSICS and RADIOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY

IThe “Antonio Corberi” Laboratory of Physics and Radiochemistry was founded together with the company as a necessary and consequent development of the collection, possession and disposal of radioactive waste.

As Protex Italia has evolved, so has the laboratory, opening up to the external market.

Its activity has consolidated over time, allowing the implementation of all nuclear measurement techniques, certified in accordance with standard UNI CEI EN ISO 17025, which is its strength.

It should be noted that it is a recognised dosimetry laboratory and measurement body pursuant to Legislative Decree 101/2020.

The laboratory performs analyses of natural and artificial radionuclides through:

  • Alpha, beta and gamma spectrometry on food, waste, aggregates and all environmental sources;
  • Total radon, alfa and beta by liquid scintillation for radiological characterisation of water intended for human consumption.

Pursuant to Legislative Decree 28/2016 and Ministerial Decree 2017, Protex Italia is the reference laboratory for the analysis of radioactivity in water for human use: analysis of Gross Alpha and Beta, Tritium and Radon.
The laboratory also conducts environmental measurements, including:

  • RADON CR-39

Monitoring with the use of CR39 passive dosimeters to detect Radon gas in workplaces and homes pursuant to Legislative Decree 101/2020:  the lab provides support throughout the service, from positioning and replacement of the detectors to taking readings and issuing the certificates and final technical reports;
  • Determination of C-14.

CHEMICAL-MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS LABORATORY
