Protex Italia is one of the long-standing companies within the Protex Group, focusing on radioactive waste management and the removal of asbestos and other pollutants.

Waste and radioactive sources are collected directly from producers, packed into approved containers and transported using the company’s own vehicles to the authorised storage facilities in Forlì. Here, the materials are managed according to strict criteria, with continuous monitoring throughout the interim storage phase, prior to final disposal at the State facility.

The physics and radiochemistry laboratory ensures the performance of nuclear analyses for all types of matrices.

Since the 1990s, this long-standing area of activity has been complemented by new operational lines: reclamation, special interventions, decommissioning of nuclear power stations, and decontamination of equipment, workplaces and sites, with services ranging from feasibility studies and risk analysis to the operational management of interventions.

Nuclear

Protex Italia’s Nuclear Division is authorised to transport, store, process and dispose of radioactive sources and waste.

With authorised storage facilities and an accredited laboratory, it carries out decommissioning, radiological emergency response and decontamination work in Italy and abroad.

Remediation

Protex Italia’s Remediation Division operates nationally in complex environmental remediation projects, specialising in asbestos and hazardous waste.

Thanks to its equipment and qualified staff, it carries out decommissioning projects with integrated management of design, monitoring, removal and disposal.

Physics and Radiochemistry Laboratory

The ‘A. Corberi’ Physics and Radiochemistry Laboratory, accredited to UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025, carries out radioactivity analyses on all types of samples, both environmental and non-environmental. Equipped with the latest instruments and staffed by highly qualified technicians, it embodies the technical excellence of Protex Italia, where any radiometric measurement can be performed, whether for environmental or personal monitoring.
