The Group
Protex Group has been operating for over 45 years in the nuclear sector, specialising in the storage and treatment of radioactive waste, the transport of radioactive materials and sources, decommissioning, radiological emergencies, environmental remediation – such as the removal of friable asbestos – and radioactivity analysis carried out in its own laboratory.
Over the last 30 years, the Group has expanded its services to include environmental and medical expertise, covering areas such as health and safety, occupational medicine, clinical analysis and training. The Group also invests in partnerships with leading international companies to develop new solutions for its clients. An integrated and certified system, with specific accreditations.
Founded in Forlì in 1978, Protex Italia operates throughout Italy, managing radioactive waste from non-nuclear sources and radioactive sources. With authorised storage facilities, dedicated vehicles and specialist expertise developed in the nuclear sector, it offers services covering transport, treatment, disposal, decontamination and radioactivity analysis, drawing on a network of Italian and international partners.
History
The roots of the Protex Group date back to 1978, the year Protex Italia was founded in Forlì. From that experience, expertise and synergies have developed, bringing together Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Medicine and Environmental Safety within a single integrated organisation. Today, almost half a century on, the Protex Group continues to evolve, guided by expertise, stability and vision.
1978
Protex Italia
Protex Italia has been established, becoming one of the first private companies to join the Integrated Service for the Management of Radioactive Waste from non-nuclear sources.
1988
Lavoro e Ambiente
Lavoro e Ambiente is founded, focusing on Industrial and Environmental Hygiene. It quickly becomes a benchmark in the sector, anticipating the integrated vision of the future Group.
1995
The Holding company is born
Laboratori Protex Holding is founded as a San Marino-registered corporation.
1996
LAmed
LAmed is formed, an Occupational Medicine polyclinic that expands the Protex Group's expertise in health and prevention.
2002
Merger of LAmed and LA
LAmed merges with Lavoro Ambiente (LA), establishing a unified organization providing integrated services in Occupational Medicine, Safety, and Environmental Protection.
2007
Protex & Partners Consortium
The Protex & Partners Consortium is founded to offer all Group services or facilitate contact with external partners on behalf of its members.
